2007/2008 - Under 10s Match Reports

The losing streak continued as the Reds missed Lewis in goal this week which meant Joe and then Seb took over goalkeeping duties in this match. We missed Lewis's long clearances so that we could clear the ball from our half to relieve the pressure on our goal.

Any mistakes we make in losing the ball always seem to result in the other team scoring at the moment and today was no different. We struggled to keep the ball in the first half and again we didn't pick up players and were punished and at 2 -0 down it looked that we might be well beaten, But the Reds fighting spirit kicked in with Jamie putting us on the score sheet with a fine dribbling run that finished with a side foot into the corner of the net. But we conceded 2 more to make it 4 -1. Jordan got us back in the game working well with Jon up front and hitting a shot into the roof of the net. We started to look like we could score more but the ball would just not go in the net with James, Grace, Jamie and Joe all pushing forward and everyone seemed to get a shot on goal. Matt held it together at the back on his own and made one great headed clearance from a corner that got him Man of the Match.
