2007/2008 - Under 10s Match Reports

The ball is not running kindly for the U10 reds at the moment with another defeat in an end to end match .

We were 1 -0 down after failing to clear the ball from the box with the ball falling to an unmarked player who slotted the ball passed Lewis. We missed Seb at the back holding position but Joe's attacking from left back (just like his Dad!) saw him equalise from close range to make it 1 - 1. Not long after we took the lead with Jordan scoring a poachers goal as he positioned himself well to tap in Grace's goalbound cross. Unfortunately we didn't defend well enough to hold off the Blasters as we watched the ball and stopped marking the players and Blasters took advantage with another 3 goals to unmarked players to make it 4 -2 at half-time.

We performed much better in the second half and won it 1 - 0 with a fine penalty from Jordan.

The last 10 minutes were our best as Lewis and Matt held out against any attacks with Joe pushing forward with James, Grace and Jamie starting to win the loose balls. We pushed Jon up front along side Jordan to pressure the Blasters defence and we were so unlucky not to get the equaliser as there were a few goalmouth scrambles but the ball just would not go in.

We have Seb back next week to support Matt at the back, but no Lewis.

Richard is unavailable again next week (he has the full support of the Board!) so Caretaker Manager Keith will step in again.
