2008/2009 - Under 11s Match Reports

Back to form today for our local derby against Great Paxton. We started well and created several chances before Jon and Grace combined well to put Jamie clear. Jamie stepped around the keeper and slid the ball into the empty net. He followed this up with his second, this time resulting from a lovely passing move between Jordan, Joe and Grace down the left. The ball was crossed into the box and Jamie scored from 2 yards. James got our third, this time dribbling down the right and hitting an unstoppable shot in at the near post. And Matt rounded off an excellent first half by poaching a goal when he came up for a corner, neatly slipping the ball past the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net.

Paxton played very well second half and deservedly scored a couple of goals. And at the other end, Jordan scored with a crisp finish after fine work by Seb and Jon, and Jamie got his hatrick when latching onto a cross by Joe, going past the last defender and finishing calmly.

Lewis was able to come out in the second half and played extremely well as a left-sided midfielder - getting a couple of rocket shots in and some great crosses for his team mates.

A good performance today - Jamie got man of the match for his driving midfield play and his cool finishing.
