2008/2009 - Under 11s Match Reports

Away again this week, this time at the superb Bluntisham pitches.

We started off extremely slowly and Bluntisham put us under pressure in the early minutes and had 2 or 3 corners. However, we gradually got back into the game and started to play some of our best passing football of the season. One move between Grace and Jamie was excellent if only we could have scored from it. And one of our goals came after almost all our players had been involved in the build-up. It was a delight to watch at times.

We got the opportunity to play a few players in unfamiliar positions - Grace playing in both attack and defence, Matt and Seb playing in midfield, James playing in defence, Joe playing in goal, and Lewis playing out. Good to see how everyone interchanged positions seamlessly.

Goal of the day had to be Jamie's screamer into the top corner from outside the box, although the goals from Grace, Jordan and James came after fantastic passing moves and so were just as pleasing. Match of the Day would have enjoyed some of them on Goal of the Month!
